above & beyond announces collaboration with g.o.d to produce unique chinese new year pudding offering to celebrate the year of the rooster

Hong Kong – Looking ahead to the year of the Rooster Above & Beyond has collaborated with acclaimed Hong Kong designer’s G.O.D (Goods of Desire) to offer limited-edition gifts that your family and friends will love.

Award winning Chef Paul Tsui, has created a delicious selection of traditional Chinese New Year puddings in three flavours; Brown Sugar with Coconut Milk, Turnip Cake with Yunnan Ham and Conpoy, Taro Cake with Preserved Meat and Conpoy. Each comes with his secret XO Sauce and Coconut Cream, and in generous sharing portions for gatherings of family and friends.

The puddings will be presented in uniquely decorated festive gift boxes, along with one set of Lai See Packets, that pay tribute to Hong Kong’s history and culture. Created by G.O.D Co-Founder Douglas Young the design revels in the bright colours so synonymous to the Rooster, and is inspired by traditional Chinese wood block motifs. With a joyful, repetitive and busy print the boxes summon the congregations and confidence the Rooster is known for.

It has been a fun journey, and our designer has loved playing with the idea of making a ‘congregation of Roosters’ in a deliberately busy print that means the reference to the zodiac is not immediately obvious”, said Douglas Young, Co-Founder of G.O.D.

The Chinese New Year Pudding Gift Box (HKD338 per box) includes one 900g pudding made for easy sharing in line with the essence of the holiday, a sauce and one set of Lai See Packets (10 pieces). Guests can choose from three flavours of pudding paired with homemade sauce to compliment selected by Chef Paul Tsui – XO Sauce adds a kick to the Turnip Cake and Taro Cake, while Coconut Cream enhances the sweetness of the Brown Sugar Cake.

Guests may order from now to 27 January 2017, or while stock lasts (collection from 12 – 27 January 2017). Chinese New Year Pudding gift vouchers are also available for purchase.
