Hong Kong – Set to be one of the most exciting dining concepts of the year, HAKU opens its doors this July. Offering a truly unique Japanese experience, the interactive and immersive new restaurant is located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui at Harbour City. Hong Kong diners will be treated to contemporary Japanese dishes with a European twist, crafted using the highest quality ingredients flown in daily from Japan.
The creative concept behind HAKU was inspired by Chef Hideaki Matsuo, proprietor and grand chef of 3-Michelin starred Osaka restaurant Kashiwaya, where he has plated up his contemporary take on haute Japanese cuisine for over two decades. At the helm of HAKU is Executive Chef Agustin Balbi, Hong Kong Tatler’s Best New Chef 2016, who will be serving innovative a la carte dishes with gastronomic influences from both the East and the West.
At the heart of HAKU’s immersive dining experience is its kappo kitchen, an open theatre style with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Featuring an expansive open seating plan surrounding the chefs’ area, the kitchen is designed to facilitate dialogue between the guests and the chefs, while enabling diners to watch each dish come together before their eyes.
