slc launches ‘leadership challenge’ initiative to promote leadership capacity based on uae founding father’s wisdom and leadership

UAE – The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC), has launched a new initiative entitled ‘Leadership Challenge’ under the theme ‘Adoption of Zayed’s Approach on Leadership’ during a special discussion session organised by the SLC’s Creativity and Innovation Team and hosted by the SLC General Secretariat’s Leadership Council at the Youth Centre in Emirates Towers. The initiative aims at promoting and instilling the values inspired by the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan among the employees and officials of the SLC General Secretariat. The initiative also falls in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to celebrate 2018 as the ‘Year of Zayed.’

H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai and Chairman of the Leadership Council, said: “The launch of this new initiative demonstrates a strong push towards the development of leadership potential based on the Founding Father’s dynamic leadership approach. The launch also proves to be both timely and strategic as it follows the mandate to celebrate the centennial of an exceptional leader who has built solid foundations for achieving unprecedented growth and development based on fraternity, equality, justice, and harmony among the community. The UAE has become today a global model for prosperity, progress, and development.”

He added: “We have a responsibility to strengthen leadership among the senior officials at the SLC’s various departments by encouraging them to adopt frameworks and methods that have been derived from the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed.”

Morshed Al Mulla, Head of Creativity and Innovation Team, SLC, said, “The launch of the Leadership’s Challenge reflects our commitment to adopt innovative initiatives that will foster a culture of challenge and innovation, while also instilling leadership and determination among employees through the adoption of the late Sheikh Zayed’s leadership approach—a solid foundation upon which the UAE has been built. The challenge lies in its role to spread the values of positivity and to motivate leadership and promote excellence, creativity, and innovation to contribute effectively to the process of developing the legislative process and the legal system in Dubai, in order to ensure the optimal implementation of legislation and uphold the principle of the rule of law as one of the core values of the UAE.”

The discussion session included brainstorming activities aimed at identifying ideas, suggestions, and proposals that contribute to further development of the leadership initiative, as well as addressing obstacles, difficulties, and challenges to ensure the success of the ‘Leadership Challenge.’
